Our native plant sale invites you to grow in the Gay Gardens spirit, planting with beauty, resilience, and care for Fire Island’s living ecosystem. Every species we offer supports the web of life, feeding pollinators and sheltering birds while rooting the forest village in place.

October is the perfect month to plant. The soil stays warm while the air cools, giving roots the best chance to settle deeply before winter. Early October is a golden season for planting, and late October can be just as welcoming, with roots continuing to grow until the first hard frost.

Orders will be ready for pickup at 561 Driftwood on the last weekend of September. Local Pines delivery will also take place that weekend, and orders over one hundred dollars qualify for free delivery. Every order is prepared so plants can move directly from our care into yours.
